Vehicle operation: Typically the vehicle is operated by a driver. The driver has to pass through a short instruction before operating a vehicle on the chassis dynamometer. The advantage of operation by driver is an early detection of possible faults at the vehicle and the test bench. |

For a continuous connection to the control room there is a wireless full-duplex headset. If required a second headset can be embedded.

The equipment includes an emergency hood as well as a gas-warning device. Autonomous from the fix mounted ambient air monitoring the device monitors the atmosphere inside the vehicle on CO, CO2, HC and O2. If necessary it displays a warning. ![]() |

Vehicle monitoring: During the operation the vehicle is monitored all around by a digital videosystem. The pictures are stored and displayed on a wide screen inside the control room. It is very useful for detecting faults and to act before occuring a bigger damage.
Fire-protection: The whole building is protected by a fire alarm system. It includes a direct connection to the fire department. Inside the building there are several hand extinguishers and inside the plenum additionally two foam extinguishers with a volume of 50 liters on both sides of the measuring section.
Fire-extinguishing system: Integrated in the floor of the wind tunnel plenum there are nozzles of a high-pressure water mist system. The climate chamber gets completely extinguished. The system gets activated automatically by fire detectors. Also possible is a manual activation.

Available fuels are
Refueling of the vehicle is possible in the measuring section via mobile tanks. It is not necessary to shut down the vehicle for refueling. |
